LiveWell At OST Partners become eligible to be recognized for their healthy eating and physical activity initiatives when they follow LiveWell’s 5-step process. Created in partnership with the National Afterschool Association’s Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Standards 2.0, the Healthy Out-of-School Time Assessment will help you track what you are already doing to support health and wellness at your site as well as highlight opportunities for growth and improvement. Guided by the latest research, best practices in youth development, and lessons learned from local implementation, Healthier Generation offers an evidence-based assessment tool to create a healthier out-of-school time environment for kids. Healthier Generation’s Healthy-Out-of-School-Time Initiative can help your organization create stimulating, healthy environments that help kids eat better and move more in ways that support their social, emotional, and academic development. LiveWell At OST partners with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation (AHG) to encourage providers to complete the Healthy-Out-of-School-Time Assessment & Action Plan annually! The Out of School workgroup offers collaborative resources for health and wellness events held by after school and summer program providers. The Out of School workgroup offers guidelines for best practices that support healthy eating and active living through various resources available and technical support provided by the Out of School Specialist and Evaluation Specialist. The LWG Out of School Specialist and Evaluation Specialist are available to provide facilitation and technical assistance that measures the overall impact on the community. Members of the Out of School workgroup include community representatives with expertise in this area who are committed to fulfilling the goals of the Out of School Community Action Plan.
